COVID-19 FRAMEWORK FOR PRIMARY EYE CARE PROVIDERS

FODO has today published a new framework for primary eye care providers to help members plan as we enter phase two of the pandemic.

The FODO team has analysed all official guidance across the four UK countries and translated this into a practical framework for practice owners, managers and clinicians. The framework includes: 

• Assessing and mitigating Covid-19 risks in practice 
• '4Ps' framework to map out provider responses based on practice, professionals/practice staff, patients and procedures 
• Planning for variations in infection rates 
• Model screening questions, risk assessment template, a summary of cleaning advice. 

The framework will help support members through the weeks and months ahead to meet patient needs safely in the new Covid-19 world. 

Meeting eye health needs and preventing vision impairments during Covid-19, a framework for primary eye care providers is a living document, and we will update it as evidence and official guidance on Covid-19 evolves. Please help us improve it further by completing this short survey. 

As well as this framework we will produce further 'At a glance' resources and other tools to help members simplify processes and improve communications with staff, patients and the public to rebuild confidence and achieve eye health for all.
