Obituary Michael Tillotson

Optics has lost another of its titans - Michael (Micky) Tillotson, who died recently at the age of 95.

FODO member Don Grocott recalls Micky leading the ACLM and working tirelessly to ensure that contact lens and solutions regulations benefited patients and continued to support innovation in the industry.

Micky's wise strategies, including setting up Euromcontact and the European Contact Lens Forum, continue to benefit patients and the contact lens industry to this day. This legacy is not surprising in a man who also served in many parts of the globe, reaching the rank of Major General in the British Army and writing several acclaimed works, including the authorised biography of Field Marshal Lord Bramall. May he rest in peace.
