National Eye Health Week
It has been a big week for eye care, with another successful National Eye Health Week (NEHW).
Our tweet of the week raised awareness of the importance of sight tests in preventing sight loss. The infographic below shows the risk of sight loss.
FODO also supported the campaign on Twitter (X), including calling for an end to the postcode lottery patients face when accessing enhanced eye care services.
In Scotland, MSPs visited primary eye care practices to learn more about the world-leading services local patients can access because of the Scottish Government's longstanding investment in eye care.
ABDO, the College of Optometrists, Fight for Sight, Moorfields, and other leading organisations also participated in the week's events.
David Cartwright, chair of NEHW, highlighted the benefits of the sector coming together to raise awareness about eye health and eye care services' impact in meeting needs and preventing avoidable sight loss.
Harjit Sandhu, managing director at FODO, said: "As a founder partner, we would like to thank the small team at Eye Health UK for leading this year's NEHW campaign. The initiative shows how sector partners committed to collaboration and a joint purpose can deliver real benefits at all levels."
