FODO Group AGM
The FODO Group, encompassing FODO, FODO Ireland, and the NCHA, held its AGM on 15 May 2024.
The Board presented its annual report 2023 and statement of accounts, which were unanimously approved.
Introducing the annual report, Sarah Joyce, FODO Group chair, said: "2023 had been another standout year for the Group against all parameters. We have made good progress against our strategies for primary eye care and primary care audiology, and continued to lead, protect and advance both sectors for the benefit of the patients we serve."
The AGM marked Sarah's last as FODO Group chair before handing over the role to Peter Ormerod who was unanimously elected. Sarah congratulated him and said: "Peter is an experienced chair with a wealth of healthcare and business experience, and the directors and I are deeply grateful that he has agreed to take on this role for the Group."
Peter Ormerod, incoming FODO Group chair, said: "Sarah has played a pivotal role in helping FODO Group through a major modernisation and restructure. We have recovered following the pandemic and are in a more solid strategic and financial position as a result. So, a big thank you to Sarah for this contribution, which will serve all members for many years to come. I would also like to thank fellow directors and members for trusting me to lead the Group Board at this crucial time. We have a great team and a wide and growing membership, and working together we will shape a positive future for primary eye care and audiology."
Harjit Sandhu, FODO group managing director, thanked Sarah for her contribution to the FODO Group and welcomed Peter on behalf of all members to his new role. He said: "The Group continues to perform well, with a record number of members, high levels of customer satisfaction and an outstanding record of policy leadership and success. We commit to partnership working and can be relied upon to deliver. As Sarah and Peter have said today, FODO, FODO Ireland and NCHA will continue actively to lead and shape the future of primary eye care and primary care audiology wherever our members have patients and populations to serve."
Paul Carroll, Peena Govind, Stephen Hannan and Glenn Tomison were unanimously re-elected as directors of the Group Board.
